About Remove Photo Metadata

Photos can contain extra information such as camera settings, device details, timestamps and sometimes location coordinates. This browser-based tool re-encodes a selected JPG, PNG or WebP image into a new file, which normally removes common embedded EXIF data. Upload your picture, process it and download the exported version before sharing. The tool does not inspect every possible metadata format and cannot guarantee that every hidden marker, watermark or other file-level detail is removed. Re-encoding also does not remove information visible inside the picture, such as street signs, license plates or faces. If privacy is especially important, inspect the downloaded file with a dedicated metadata viewer before publishing it. Keep a copy of the original file separately if you still need camera information or editing history. The picture is processed in your browser, not uploaded to our server.

How to use this tool

  1. Select a JPG, PNG or WebP image from your device.
  2. Adjust the available settings, if this tool offers any.
  3. Click Process image and preview the output.
  4. Download the finished image to your device.

Practical tips

  • Check the exported file with a metadata inspector when privacy is critical.
  • EXIF camera orientation may be applied to output pixels.
  • Visible street signs or faces remain visible.

Privacy and limitations

Your images are processed locally in your browser; the image is not uploaded to the mrIMK Tools server by these tools. Your browser may limit very large files or image dimensions. Animated images and SVG input are not currently supported. Check the final downloaded file before relying on it for professional use.
